THE WORKS OF MERCY

The Holy Father has asked all Catholics to dedicate
 themselves during the Holy Year to performing the
Works of Mercy for those in need.

the Corporal Works of Mercy are:
To feed the hungry;
To give drink to the thirsty;
To clothe the naked;
To shelter the homeless;
To visit the sick;
To ransom the captive;
To bury the dead.

the Spiritual Works of Mercy are:
To instruct those who lack knowledge;
To counsel the doubtful;
To correct those who need it;
To bear wrongs patiently;
To forgive offences willingly;
To comfort the afflicted;
To pray for the living and the dead.

As part of OLM’s celebration of the Holy Year, you are asked to commit yourself to performing some or all of these works as you are able. Write down your commitment and report back to Father Nick when you have finished your commitment. The cards are available in the Church.
